Memories. When I had time I tried to assist at rehearsals in our magnificent Studio 4 at Flemish Public Radio and Television at Flageyplein in Elsene. In 1968 a very promising Dutch soprano and a young Serbian rehearsed for an Opera and Belcantoconcert. The lady was Christine Deutekom and the gentleman Nicola Mitic. He had a solid baritone voice with splendid top notes. It was not very refined singing with phrasing you remembered but the sound was big and healthy as my tapes prove. From that moment on he sang a lot in those concerts which suddenly ended when the producer died in surgery.
