The Italian conductor has pulled out of Le grand macabre in Zurich ‘for health reasons’.

The opera opens in February 3.

His replacement is Tito Ceccherini.

    Good move – not a piece you would want to conduct if you’re not feeling your best. In fact, I think a conductor should go into physical training for a month before hand.
