A Baltimore conductor has died, aged 67
mainWith a PhD from Peabody, Chuck Ellis conducted the Baltimore Symphony, as well as Syracuse, Columbus, Florida, Charlotte and Savannah orchestras.
He was music director of the Prince George’s Philharmonic Orchestra.
Appreciation here.
So sorry to hear about the passing of an old friend. Chuck and I were conducting students together at NEC, worked together on several opera and G&S productions in the Boston area, and spent many hours schmoozing at Fenway Park. He was a good guy, I learned a lot about music and the infield fly rule from him. R.I.P.
