I think “the Donald” should change his name to Strump so that we can call his acolytes the Strumpettes.
Why punish the brass?
I’m sure strumpets do not want their name damaged by “The Donald” either…

I was expecting to see the “the Dude” appear and everyone shout “mambo” at the end. I would love to see the Donald’s reaction to that performance. He might ban countertenors from the USA until we figure out “what the hell is going on !”
I’ll change the forseen trumpets in my new score into cornets.
This reminds me of when the Americans started calling French fries “Freedom fries” because France had the sense not to get caught up in Bush’s ludicrous — ultimately disastrous — Iraqi misadventure.
(Of course if they had called them chips like normal people they would not have got into the contorted position of blaming a side dish for their own cosmic ignorance of foreign policy).
Hmm. One can blame Bush for the ascendance of Donald Trump and the inappropriate embarrassment of trumpeters. The word “trump” is a derivative of the word “triumph,” while “trumpet” derives from the French (them again!) “trompette.”
Side issue: chips in American usage means what crisps mean in British.
You have to consider, this man is seriously running for the highest office of the – by far – biggest military power of this world. It’s not a comedy, it’s reality.
We can actually only hope, well we actually know, that the US President is – pretty much since JFK was shot – a puppet only that follows orders of his handlers basically.
Trumps role in the current campaign is “The court jester” who speaks the populist tongue – read ignorant self-righteous Cowboy slang.
It’s important that in every election cycle there is someone taking that role – remember Sarah Palin – because that kind of mentally retarded creature contributes probably a good two digit percentage of the US population.
You are more than likely going to have to choose between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, unless something drastic takes place. If that doesn’t send a chill up your spine.
Recent history suggests it is too early to know who will be the republican presidential candidate in the next election.

The establishment right wing in the U.S. has finally started to turn on him, affixing to him the labels “demagogue” and, even stronger, “fascist.”
