Dis-donc…
Report here (en francais).
He was a trade union representative. No doubt his extortionate phone bill was a framing by the running dogs of capitalism.
“It is suspected the person concerned downloaded movie on his or her laptop while lounging on a beach”
Err… no. Nothing in the article indicates that.
According to the article, the union rep in question claims he used is professional phone while in vacation for union-related business. Apparently he didn’t know that the phone company charges 5000 € per giga downloaded abroad (that’s quite an absurd fee if you ask me).
The facts of the matter are really murky. This is why it would be wise not to draw conclusions before the investigation is completed.
Even given a high charge as you suggest > 10Gb is a heck of a lot to need to download while on holiday.
