From the press pictures I have seen, it may as well be his Death Mask! Poor Claudio Abbado, what an image to be remembered by. Even in his late years he was better looking than that, and a smiling man as well. What a shame.
I wonder why the artist and whoever else picked this particular bust of Claudio Abbado. Bertrand Freiesleben, the maker of the bust, said that he had thus far made 18 heads/busts of Claudio Abbado. I’d be interested to see the others as well.
It would be helpful if the photograph were somewhat larger.
