Norman, I’ve still got the problem that I can’t see most pictures on Slipped Disc. On the home page, the field is black insteda, and on the article page, there’s only a caption. Same porblem on my office computer (Windows), at home (Linux) and on my phone (Android) – firefox in all three cases. No other websites concerned. This has been ongoing for about 10 days now.

It seems to be a central Europe rights-blocking issue. we’re working on it.
OK, I see. Thank you for the information and good luck!
Now fixed!
Yes! Same her, it works. Thank you!
Photos and links are fine in Safari on an iMac here in NYC.
Are you kidding, Baron Z or Earl A? When you read Slippedisc regularly and/or when you are really following the whereabouts in the musical landscape, then you would know that the handsome man and Eva in this picture are the main characters in the opera Andrea Chenier that is running in Covent Garden, London, viz. Jonas Kaufmann and Eva-Maria Westbroek. By the way: a wonderful natural picture of these great singers.
Lovely pic of 2015’s first power duo. The reviews, personal and pro, are almost all positive for Andrea Chenier at ROH. Opinions are divided on the quality of Giordano’s piece itself. Praise for Jonas Kaufmann’s performance has the critics running for their Thesaurus. I am listening to the BBC radio broadcast and so far (Act II) I agree about the performances of Kaufmann and Westerbroek being excellent (A, B+). I think the acting is probably what puts it into the A++ category. Can’t wait to see the “live” video. If your local theater isn’t showing it, check with surrounding independent theaters. Some are prohibited by a non-compete clause in distributor contract from showing both MET and ROH operas. This is the case in Southern CA (LA & Orange at least). In OC South Coast Village is showing it 2/22 & 2/24. Better late than never!
