Breaking: Cologne Opera in trouble

The opera house and dramatic theatre in Cologne have run into deficit after cuts to their public subsidy.

Director  Uwe Eric Laufenberg says he has taken five million Euros from reserves and still faces difficulties. More here.

  • It will be interesting to compare how the financial problems with the Cologne Opera are resolved in comparison with the New York City Opera’s problems. Important lessons could be learned by we Americans.
