Visiting the Pavarotti house in Modena, Una Barry found some unexpected aspects. He painted, for instance.

He got fan letters from Princess Diana.

He had a part-time job at the Met.

Pavarotti’s painting got quite a bit of press around the early 1990s. He had only taken up painting a few years earlier and his concert promoter Tibor Rudas even started a separate company to “sell” them to ticket holders at expensive after-concert dinners. Unfortunately, someone – I think in California – spotted that these were far from original works. Indeed, it was eventually revealed that he was painting by numbers. The company was wound up and no more was heard about his “paintings”!

I’ll note that on these and most pictures on the internet you can right-click and choose “view image” to see them at their native resolution.

I work on a mac desktop. If I drag the photos off the blogsite to the main screen, they open at double the original size. I can then increase them to whatever size I want.
