German theatre names orchestra for Israeli composer
OrchestrasThe Augsburg State Theatre in Bavaria has founded a Paul Ben-Haim Orchestra Academy to train future musicians.
Ben-Haim, born in Munich as Paul Frankenburger and assistant to Bruno Walter, migrated to Tel Aviv in 1933 as a result of Nazi persecution. He became the founding composer of the unborn state of Israel.

Shouldn’t it be ‘named after’?
“assistant to Bruno Walter, migrated to Tel Aviv in 1933…” How old is this guy? 120 ??
He died 40 years ago. Should listen to his oratorio “Yoram” & his violin concerto.
Might be worth mentioning that prior to assisting Walter, he was Kapellmeister in Augsburg for several years.
Marvelous. He was a truly great composer. His symphonies are masterpieces. He should be played everywhere, but Israeli composers never are.
