  • Sisko24 says:

Janos Starker, Gregor Piatigorsky and Mstislav Rostropovitch.

  • Philipp Lord Chandos says:

    Ken, Barbie, Chinaman

  • Oliver says:

Well, one of the three is not much of a cellist.

  • Gerry Feinsteen says:

    Yuja’s ex, Yuja’s replacement, Yuja’s distant relative

  • Chuck says:

Off topic, but she was terrific in the Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 1 last Thursday. She’s playing Elgar tonight in Cleveland with Mäkelä.

    • Chicagoan says:

Friday’s performance was wonderful, as well. Yo-Yo Ma and Kathryn Stott gave a superb recital on Sunday. A run of fine cello music making.

  • Schola Cantorum says:

Saw her in London recently at LSO St Luke’s playing Mendelssohn and Britten; incredible playing, and my companions raved about her Schostakowitsch, so I’m sad to have missed this.

  • Chet says:

    SIgn from photo, bottom:

The CSO provides 2 dressing rooms for the concertmaster and 1 dressing room for the principal cello?

Which way to the (in)famous massage room?

  • Piston1 says:

    — so good to see him getting out into the community.

  • Wilson Hane says:

certainly like your website but you need to take a look at the spelling on quite a few of your posts Many of them are rife with spelling problems and I find it very troublesome to inform the reality nevertheless I will definitely come back again

    • Vaughan Jones says:

Says the man who is yet to be introduced to sentences, punctuation or capital letters. Obviously a spoof comment!

      • David K. Nelson says:

Have you priced commas and capital letters lately? No wonder people are leaving them out.

        • Sisko24 says:

So if you approve of contributors being dunned for improper punctuation, etc., wouldn’t it be accurate to say you support capital punishment?

    • Chet says:

But no need to look at punctuation or capitalization.

    • Christopher Clift says:

Apart from what Vaughan Jones says about your ‘contributions’ Wilson, it is always good to realise that many commenters on here do not have English (or knowledge of that language) as their first choice in which to write.

  • John W. Norvis says:

l to r: Tinker, Evers, Chance

  • freddynyc says:

Amazing photo opp – the most overrated cellist of out times standing next to the most underrated one……

  • Andrew Clarke says:

Ma, he’s Makeling Eyes at Me …

  • Andrew Clarke says:
