The declining mega-agency IMG, owned by the Russian businessman Alex Shustorovich, has clinked virtual vodka glasses on a ‘strategic alliance’ with Tact artist management, founded in Holland by the Bulgarian Dari Dimova.

Tact is known for mostly east European artists. It is riding high on the soaring stardom of Aigul Akhmetshina.

Dimova  (pictured) says: ‘TACT began its success story over twenty years ago as an association of independent managers who shared a standard of excellence, network and ambition to deliver the highest quality standards in classical music management. This collaborative spirit, which is an intrinsic part of the TACT strategy, led to an initial partnership with IMGA for a couple of artists. This fruitful cooperation inspired us to look for a broader alliance with IMGA, with whom we share the same ethics, passion and professionalism.’

Romana Jaroff, Managing Director of IMG Artists America, says: ‘We have found this collaboration to be very effective, with many benefits for us and our artists. We have also discovered we share very similar values and philosophies when it comes to the personal approach to artist management, focusing on the highest-level promoters and investing in the future top talents of the classical music industry.’

Values and philosophies, eh? Pass the hemlock.

More news to come, apparently Alex Shustorovich has an eye on Askonas Holt which is on sale again, if that comes true, there will be one management in the world left.

    • OperaGuy says:

That would be a crazy move to make. Askonas is becoming increasingly bloated, and you’d have to shear a lot of dead weight across the board to make that organization work as anything but as part of a larger non-profit, as it currently is.

    • AG says:

      For Sale AGAIN???

    • WokenSleepyAgent says:

Wait what? Why would Askonas be on sale again so quickly? I can’t believe SFCM/Stull are even thinking of bailing on their huge expansion project. Did something go sideways in London? And how’s this gonna shake out for Opus 3?

    • Onlooker says:

If this is true, the board of Askonas Holt have a serious case to answer for their reckless mismanagement of the company. In less than 18 months they’ve managed to destabilise the agency and lose swathes of artists in the process. They should be embarrassed.

  • Hi my family member I want to say that this post is awesome nice written and come with approximately all significant infos I would like to peer extra posts like this

  • Stivender says:

What utter nonsense! Where do you people get your false information? Askonas Holt is certainly not being sold and is positively thriving under the umbrella of SFCM. Look at all their new signings! Stop spewing fake news!

    • Cleo says:

Most of their star singers have left (name the current stars, I’ll wait). Replaced by students. Hardly thriving…

  • Stivender says:

Nadine Sierra, Jakub Józef Orliński, Rachel Willis-Sorensen, Angel Blue, Alice Coote and Amanda Majeski are examples of their recent ”student” signings in your view??
