The Finnish conductor has been awarded the $100,000 Polar Music Prize, together with the US songwriter Nile Rodgers.

Described as ‘a Nobel Prize for Music’, the Polar has struggled to make a global impact.

    What do the laureates do with the prize money? Sometimes they pleasantly surprise us.

      Usually they donate it for musical education.

      EPS’s previous home in exclusive Brentwood, CA was worth around $5 million and had six bedrooms, four baths, a pool and a sauna. I believe he drove an exotic sports car. That might tell you something.
