The great pianist bought a car but never learned how to drive and employed a chauffeur.

His wife, Wanda, eventually took the wheel.

She managed to run over one of the family poodles, crushing one of its hind legs and requiring an amputation. The pooch became known as the piano dog since it had three legs.
