This is the Canadian-Ukrainian conductor Keri-Lynn Wilson taking a curtain call after La Boheme at Covent Garden. She is wearing the yellow ribbon in solodarity with the Israeli hostages kidnpapped by Hamas and held in Gaza tunnels.

Wilson is married to the Metropolitan Opera general manager Peter Gelb.

  • Anthony Sayer says:

Good. I wonder what Hamas’s well-heeled useful idiots in London will have to say about it.

  • Judith says:

    Brava!

  • Kristian John Davies says:

Well done Keri lyn Wilson! BRAVO

  • Ari Bocian says:

    Thank you, Maestra!

  • Fleur says:

Pretty sure it’s a Ukraine ribbon – it’s edged in blue. She’s the creator of the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra after all

  • May says:

What part of her is Ukrainian besides the virtue signalling?

    • Nik says:

Her work with the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra qualifies as something a little more than virtue signalling, wouldn’t you say? It is, however, true that she is by background not Ukrainian at all.

    • Anthony Sayer says:

Her hair colour and her height, apparently. I wasn’t aware that a solidarity ribbon conferred nationality. Still, if she has come out vocally in support of the remaining Israeli hostages as well as against the barbaric, sub-human behaviour of those worthless terrorists then she’s welcome to any passport she may covet, in my book.

  • Norman Olsfanger says:

It is so heartwarming that she has done this.

  • Bob England says:

Yet another example of inaccurate reporting…this is a blue and yellow ribbon for Ukraine. Too bad your eyesight is so poor.

  • Michael Mitchell says:

    Good for her

  • Jacqueline Kaye says:

26000 dead in Gaza. Where are their ribbons?

  • SartorR says:

G-D bless her – many thanks and brava!

  • V.Lind says:

I like “solodarity.” Interesting neologism for an artist, albeit generated by a typo.
