Conde Nast yesterday folded Pitchfork, the music review site, into its main GQ brand. Anna Wintour said: ‘This decision was made after a careful evaluation of Pitchfork’s performance, and what we believe is the best path forward for the brand so that our coverage of music can continue to thrive within the company.’

Kill to cure, in other words.

While Pitchfork was geared to longform rock and pop reviews (for which there is now hardly anywhere to go), mostly from indie labels. It also covered some classical recordings.

Here are Pitchfork’s alltime classical greats … with LaMonte Young at #4, and Julius Eastman making the top ten.

Way to go.

    “The brand.”

I’m sorry to see her engage in this kind of talk.

Get Woke, Go Broke. Reddit’s days are numbered, too. The venture capital is running out for woke tech sites.

This is simply not true. Reddit is in danger because the CEO wants to take it public and as such is doing their level best to annoy the community that has made it desirable. “Woke” has nothing to do with it, greediness is the problem in that case. It’s never enough to be profitable, it has to be stripped for parts and wrung dry until it’s just another crappy site.
