Judge awards £30k to collapsed orchestra musicians
OrchestrasMembers of Scotland’s Nevis Ensemble, which went bust a year ago, have been awarded £30,500 in court for unpaid wages and breach of contract. The sum will have to be divided between 17 players.
Nevis, founded in 2018, gave more than 700 performances to an aggregate audience of 200,000.
That’s under £2000 each. What were these people earning?
That is a disgracefully low award for compensation. That is not even £1,500 each. What was this judge thinking of. They ought to appeal his decision.
