The weather is good year round.

But unless you are coming from London, NYC, Toronto etc. the city is very expensive.

  • Susan Bradley says:

Only tourists go to Bondi Beach!

    • All Ears says:

      A ludicrously ill-informed comment.

      • Susan Bradley says:

I’m an Australian. Lived in Sydney. That’s as much information as is necessary.

        • All Ears says:

Not nearly enough information, dismissive much.

This is getting petty. But you’re talking rubbish.

I’m an Australian, and have lived and still live in Sydney, the last 40 years in the eastern suburbs, a good deal closer to Bondi than the Kimberley. I, that is we, go regularly to Bondi, several times a week. My better half as recently as this morning, Wednesday.

Tell me the 10s of board riders in wet suits and the surfers in the water at sunrise are tourists, with tourist surf boards and tourist wet suits.

Tell me the joggers and dog walkers on the promenade every morning and through the day are tourists, walking their tourist dogs.

Tell the the throngs packing the finest sand in the world on a hot summers days are tourists, with tourist umbrellas and tourist beach paranphenalia.

Tell me the lazy couples and families on the grassy slopes on a languid summers night are tourists.

Tell me the cars and more cars filling the ample parking are all rent-a-cars spilling tourists speaking with broad Australian accents onto the beach.

Tell me when you were last in Bondi.

It’s a jewel in the city’s crown. You do it, nor yourself, no favour.

  • Trumpetera says:

In all honesty, as a co-principal horn player, a majority of the daytime activities will be spent in a practice room or on stage rehearsing.

Secondly, one of the absolute LAST things a brass player wants is to get the lips sunburnt.

Since this is a highly skilled job, and not a night time hobby like a community band….

Scaringly ignorant way of looking at the music profession from the author.
