Hamburg police and state ballet have issued a public appeal for a missing person.
She is Ling Zhan, 21, a member of the corps de ballet for the past two years.
Last seen on January 5, around 2pm.
Real concern for her welfare.

She’s probably defecting! Who wouldn’t?
It’s not sensible, funny or productive to speculate or make wild guesses in situations such as these. She also does not need to defect when she has a working visa and an employee contract as a full time artist of Hamburg Ballet.
She was found safe and is with the police

A bit late, but appreciate the concern. By the time this article was posted she had already been found (as confirmed by friends and colleagues). NB her name is Lin Zhang, not Ling Zhan. Once again, though, the help and concern is much appreciated; hope there will be similar posts should other artists be in a similar situation in future.
