We hear that the 2021 Operalia winner Victoria Karkacheva has left her agent Dominic Domingo, the competition’s organiser and grandson of its founder. The Russian mezzo (left in pic) has just moved from AskonasHolt to Tact Artists Management.

Also leaving Askonas for Tact is the Ukrainian Andrii Kymach, winner of the 2019 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World.

Tact are also claiming three HarrisonParrott scalps: Derek Welton, Rihab Chaieb and Allison Cook.

For his part, Dominic Domingo at AskonasHolt has signed Navasard Hakobyan, the Armenian baritone who won Third Prize at the 2023 Operalia.

No surprise on the DD front… I have heard a fair bit about his work from singers and AH employees, and none of it positive.

Time for the children at Askonas Cult to be humbled.

Never understood the hype over this singer.

  • Fer says:

Domingo is a crook who won’t do anything for free!! Now he got his grandson doing the dirty job for him

His lame and ludicrous excuse he gave after he was fired from LA Ópera

….‘I only gave repertoire advise to singers .. I was never involved in casting decisions.

….. still makes me laugh!!! It is by far one of the best jokes I’ve heard

  • CRogers says:

    Let the batching behind….
