Munich molester is out of jail
NewsThe former rector of the Munich Academy of Music has walked free from an Austrian prison after serving 20 months of a long-delayed sentence. Siegfried Mauser, now 69, was convicted of sexual acts against colleagues and job-seekers.
He was supported by several music giltterati and is now planning more legal action in an effort to clear his name.
The sexual abuse tolerated in German conservatories for decades is a disgrace. And Germany is hardly alone.
It costs money to keep people in jail.
They let them out early.
He was definitely not the only one in Munich. There was (until very recently), a Professor who loved misbehaving with younger male students.
