  • A.L. says:

Who must, in turn, be spinning in his grave at the insult.

  • zaying says:

Verdi is turning in his grave.

    • John Borstlap says:

Yes, there were rumblings heard for days after this embarrassing event. Verdi, who stood for everything that is condemned in today’s Russia.

      • zaying says:

        Who said anything about politics?

I’m talking about her turning his Lady Macbeth into a petulant pudgy bourgeois Housewife of Inverness.

  • Reality Check says:

    Puke

  • Esfir Ross says:

G.Verdi buried at Casa Verdi with his 2nd wife. I don’t know where Anna attend his tomb.

    • Novagerio says:

“I don’t know where Anna attend his tomb” – his and Giuseppina’s grave is precisely in Casa Verdi, Milan.

  • Esme says:

    nice
    reminds me of babushka

  • Micaela Bonetti says:

Quante brutte cattiverie scritte da voi tutti.
    Nessuno che si vergogni?

  • Jonathan Sutherland says:

Lluís Pasqual should make a small plot variation and have Donna Anna’s Elisabetta burned at the auto-da-fé for outrages committed against lyric art in general and pro-Putin sychophancy in particular.

  • Joan Nilson says:

    Oh, dear Lord!!
In a babushka, and clawing at Verdi’s inscription!
I’ve been to Casa Verdi, and his grave (with Strepponi’s grave right next to him) is set in a type of grotto. There’s even a gate. Someone had to open it so she could be “hands on.”
No class, no style, no dignity.
She could have been elegantly dressed and brought a dozen roses. Sadly, you can’t teach good taste.

  • Dixie says:

Babuschka loves company! According to photos on Instagram Meli and Salsi were with her. Povero Verdi!!!

  • Potpourri says:

Hello, Zaying, I am an American babushka who bundles up when I visit my little granddaughter in snowy-windy Chicago. I would love to look like Anna Netrebko. I saw Netrebko as Lady Macbeth in Berlin in September and she definitely did not look like a“petulant pudgy bourgeois housewife of Inverness.”
I watched Don Carlo on RAI 1 today and Netrebko looked and sounded terrific.
