Death of leading violin teacher
RIPWe have been notified of the death of Petru Munteanu, artistic director of the international Leopold-Mozart-Competition (Augsburg) and of the international competition and the masterclasses in Kloster Schöntal. His former students play in the major German orchestras.
Born in Bucharest, he taught at the University of Music Lübeck from 1970, and at the University of Music Hamburg. In 1994, he joined the new-founded University of Music and Drama in Rostock.
He really was an important violin teacher in Germany. R.I.P.
