The dual agency owned by San Francisco Conservatory has absorbed boutique management Magnum Opus into its vocal division.

  • US Agent says:

Somewhat anticipated this expansion for Askopus. Given the recent talent exodus from their British office, it’s logical they’d strengthen Opus 3’s lineup of vocalists, and with Woodfield’s phased exit on the cards.

However, I’m still unsure if the current leadership is up to the task. It’s like a pianist being given two grand pianos – sure, they’ve doubled the keys, but are there sufficient fingers to keep pace with the ambition?

    • Industry Insider says:

Ha! If they don’t rebrand as “Askopus” after the merger, I will be very disappointed!

    • Jo Mama says:

The merger is happening at Opus 3, not AH. They are still two separate entities even though it’s looking like a bigger merger between the two is more likely in the future. And the MOA folks are 100% up to the task at hand:) just ask their clients.

      • Industry Insider says:

Sorry, I was talking about the eventual merger of AH and Op3, and the leadership there. MOA is a bit of a non-story, it’s just a boutique that’s been absorbed to fill a gap.

Oops sorry thought this was a reply to my comment!

  • LC says:

Crikey, the list of singer is a real “Who’s that?” of opera.

  • Ten, Fifteen, and Twenty. says:

Caroline Woodfield has been retired “in spirit” for the past twenty years.
