Comments

  • BSO a great orchestra says:

Remembering Brendan O’Brien’s excellent leadership in the Bournemouth symphony orchestra very well. He was one of a special kind, like George Hurst and of course the much regretted Silvestri with whom O’Brien started.

  • Julius Bannister says:

A gentleman leader of this fine orchestra

  • Robert Houlihan says:

Brendan was Irish. He was also leader of the then Radio Eireann S.O.(Now NSOI.).
Brendan was my friend and a source of great support to me as a conductor.
I loved hearing his many anecdotes of life in the U.K., and stories from his travels.
He was very much admired and appreciated by George Hurst (my mentor) as well as Sir Simon Rattle.
R.I.P. Brendan – ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam!
