The world has lost a great voice. Such a tragic loss. I had long been a fan of hers and thought that she had the potential to rival Anna Netrebko some day.

This absolutely perfect Lehar video was made when Patricia was only 19 years old. You may think it is in imitation of Netrebko, but really, at just 19 (!) how could anyone have done this so well?

Another absolutely immaculate live recording of hers was this Frühlingsstimmen Walzer which could even compare with Kathleen Battle’s performance especially when you consider that she was maybe around 21 years old at this point:

This is perhaps one of the very first videos I ever saw of hers when she was only around 17:

And here is a more recent video with a perfectly tragic farewell to the world, Pamina from Mozart’s Magic Flute:

This is just too tragic to even think about. 25 is too young for this to happen. Thoughts must go to her family, friends and colleagues who must be heartbroken. RIP.

Tragic shattering news; our world is extremely depleted without Patricia’s immaculate voice, her warm giving persona and captivating beauty. Her death is so unjust. The world is in turmoil with few positives in many lives, but Patricia Janickova spread unique bliss and happiness with her stunning performances and her glowing presence. May her loved ones receive some solace from her beautiful but short life on Earth.

  • Thomas Fuller(Mokena, Il. USA says:

I first heard her on the internet when she was but a child but an obvious talent and I listened to her frequently as she grew to be an adult. Cannot believe she is gone.

  • Donna says:

Her musicality, stage presence and most of all her beautiful vocal tone, were very special. No other word for this than “tragic.”

So unfair, this world has lost a supreme talent who gave us so much joy.
