The young French pianist Alexandre Kantorow, winner of the $300,000 Gilmore aware, has been talking to Zsolt Bognar about his life-changing opportunity.

Apparently, he’d like to spend half of each year in private contemplation.

    I saw him win the Tchaikovsky competition in Moscow in June 2019 and have followed his career since: he is truly a remarkable musician. Much success to him!

      Did you listen to the interview? Only a small part of that stipend can be used for personal reasons. It is primarily to encourage up and coming musicians to create bold musical/artistic projects
