Korean scoops last ARD award
OrchestrasThe viola section of the ARD competition was won by a South Korean, Haesue Lee, who is 23.
This year’s round of contests, focussed on harp, double bass, piano trio and viola was lamentably low-key, with few surprises and little controversy. ARD is planning to slash the event in years to come. It is likely they will eliminate the less eye-catching instruments.
Is it truly lamentable that there was little controversy??
What is ARD??? I think we should be told.
