Good that he was convicted but the sentence is far too lenient. Could someone please let us know whether under Candian law, as in British law, he could be let out after serving as littie as half his sentence?

It’s because the victim was white. Now if the criminal was white and the victim was of “color” the result would have been another two dozen historic churches burned to the ground not to mention Prime Minister Putz groveling only the way a spineless Marxist can.

      The internet says…

“[in Canada] Inmates are eligible for full parole after 1/3 of their sentence, or 7 years, whichever is less. This means that someone who is sentenced to 6 years of jail time, would be first eligible for full parole after 2 years custody.”

As a Canadian, I can tell you that he will be out earlier than in 8 years. We have our lovely Prime Minister to thank for easing up the penalties against criminals….

Actual sentence was 10 years, but he has already served 2 years and a few months. He is eligible to apply for parole after serving 1/3rd of the sentence, which would be about one year from now.

Eight years for taking a life and with a history of substance abuse. It’s that punitive in Canada these days, is it??!!! I would expect a community service order at the most, this being Canada. But, I guess, that kind of 8 year (of course it will be less than this!!) sentence at least defines exactly the worth of human being these days.

Boris Brott used to be the conductor of the Northern Sinfonia In Newcastle upon Tyne in the late 1960s. He was extremely popular and had a thriving fan club. This was such a shocking item to read. RIP.
