Cate Blanchett joins Belarus Free Theatre
NewsThe Australian actor, last seen in the conductor movie Tar, has nailed her sympathies to a dissident theatre company from a Putin ally state.
Blanchett will appear in the world premiere at London’s Barbican Theatre of BFT’s latest stage production, King Stakh’s Wild Hunt, and will moderate a panel discussion titled Letters of Hope: the impact of war and dictatorship on the children of Ukraine and Belarus.
Courageous. Unlike a certain Anna, her and her team running around desperate, like loose cannons, all of her, their client’s, own making.
I don’t think she is in the play itself. She is just doing the panel event on Friday afternoon. Anyway thanks for publicising this, I have just booked tickets for both.
Incidentally the play’s cast has opera singers including the great Andrei Bondarenko.
