And when Paul & Paula appeared in Cincinnati, Paul decided that the music profession was too evil so he quit before the show went on and Dick Clark, who was producing the show in the city, sang the song with Paula. Needless to say, Clark did not have a singing career after that occasion.
It was number #1 on the Billboard Hot-100 chart for all of February 1963. The chart a year later would look a lot different.
