Russia premieres an American opera
OperaThe Brusnitsyn Cultural Quarter in St. Petersburg will give the Russian premiere on July 22 and 23 of Jake Heggie’s 2016 opera, Two Remain.
It’s about an encounter between two Holocaust survivors, haunted by their shared past.
The director is Daria Zholnerova, a teacher at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
Could anyone inform me about the premiere of Heggie’s opera in the U.S.? From the picture it seems that Joyce DiDonato was one of the singers. Cann’t find anything on the internet. Thank you.
Based on Heggie’s website (https://www.jakeheggie.com/works/tworemain), DiDonato wasn’t in the premiere cast.
