The Ukrainian pianist Nataliia Kuryliak, now safe in Chicago, has been describing how she fled the Russian invasion last year with her six month old son in a stroller.

“At that time, I understood that a mom can do everything,” she said. “I was walking and walking and walking. We were walking maybe for five hours.” She has now found work, teaching at a music school.

Just one refugee story a day.

    Wow, seven whole miles? Quick, send her a check. Surely seven miles is worth the total economic future of three or four German schoolchildren at least.
