OrchestrasThe tenor has confirmed his participation in the annual Eiffel Tower concert on July 14.
Others signed up are Vilde Frang, Daniil Trifonov, Ermonela Jaho, Marie-Laure Garnier, Stéphanie d’Oustrac and Ludovic Tézier.
Cristian Măcelaru conduct the Orchestre National de France and the chorus of Radio France.
Kaufmann cancellation schedule to be announced forthwith, according to sources.

Did Trifonov take American citizenship?
Good for him. In light of his career shifting ever so gradually to things other than operatic singing, as reported here, he seems to have increasingly clear priorities as to where and what he will perform. With an eye to the wider-than-opera-music market (i.e., The Three Tenors market, said with all due respect to this market segment), singing at the Eiffel Tower seems to fit that strategy. I wish him well. These transitions are never easy.
The Waldbühne gig is his priority right now, I guess. And the other various one-night operatic stands he filled his summer schedule with in order to prove that those who call him ”the most bankable tenor around” are not entirely mistaken.

Is he sure he will turn up? Just today he will not sing at Roh,which is becoming a habit. We should get our money back. Kaufmann is unreliable and disappointing.
