Death of electronic influencer, 78
RIPClarence Barlow, one of the most fertile practitioners of electroacoustic music, has died two months after suffering a fall.
A founder of Initiative Musik und Informatik Köln he was the artistic director of the Institute of Sonology, at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and head of composition at University of California, Santa Barbara’s Music Department from 2006 to 2019.
A student of Bernd Alois Zimmermann and Karlheinz Stockhausen, his music draws on his own mixed Indian, British and Portuguese heritage.
