    Fantastic news!

Shame about the idiot who booed a child on stage at a major opera house. You can’t always justify the means in life, but the booer might have done young Malakai a backhanded favour – who has demonstrated a resilience necessary to be a singer of any worth, not just have talent. Wish Malakai a terrific future ahead.

    • Peter Davis says:

Malakai done good as they say. Going on BGT seems to be slumming it after the ROH, but make hay while the sun shines. I hope that when his voice finally breaks that it doesn’t interfere with his meteoric rise.
I would like to hear from the booer, so that he can give us an idea of why he booed and what he thinks of the reaction to his booing.

    • Hercule says:

And Britain’s Got Talent is where you would find a “singer of any worth, not just have talent” ?

  • Gustavo says:

Now all girls and boys of colour need to get booed at the Royal Opera House at least once to promote their careers.

Otherwise they won’t stand out in the crowd of spoiled white brats with their unfairly acquired social status.

    • Robin Blick says:

All human beings are ‘of colour’. As Dr King said, what counts is the quality of their character, or in this case, their voice. So please drop the racist invective.

  • I beg your pardon says:

Why is a talented young classical singer like him going on such a low class trashy programme.

    • Tvtam says:

Not everyone can get to the R.O.H.
He is now known publicly via B.G.T. golden buzzer and people that enjoyed his voice are googling and youtubing him.

  • Robert Holmén says:

Yet another confirmation that there’s no such thing as bad publicity as long as they spell your name right.

  • Ms JACKIE LOBBAN says:

The Truth is kids like him do not have the luxury of a Tutor, he has to start somewhere. Good luck Malaki

    • Ambercello says:

He has been at Southwark Cathedral School and his school has a well known Scola Cantorum that has apparently toured the world. I am pretty certain he has a tutor. Not to take anything away from him. I wish him well but we have to be careful how we pigeon hole people.

  • IP says:

Right. Scandals should be milked while the iron is hot, and boy trebles are not very durable, hormones and all. Sweet kid anyway, I hope they don’t break him with oversized ambitions.

    • Save the MET says:

Bingo, the only sensible comment on here. Simon Cowell in his mission to get rich off the back of talent uttered a superlative about this young man that should embarrass him. The young man’s techique is terribly flawed and with a Cowell abuse tour, he voice will be shot. If this young man desires a career, he needs a vocal professor who will work with him privately to develop his technique. It is fine for him to sing in a chorus, that’s a good thing, but who knows what his voice will be like once it breaks. A voice is not a piano, cello, violin etc. where a wunderkind who has talent can get bored with it and walk away. A voice is a delicate instrument and if abused as it has already been listening to him, will not last long. He’s already developed pitch issues and a wobble which if one vieews the tape critically, is readily apparent. The unfortunate thing is people see a cute kid that has talent and fawn over him for his bravery, rather than the destructiveness which comes with a youngerster who has not been well trained in technique. By the way, Jimmy Levine and Herbert v. Karajan used to do this to adult singers, putting them in roles their voices were not suited to and the vocal burnout usually came within a few years. They need to stop the insanity and with Cowell’s wealth, if he wants to do him a favor, pony up and get him a great instructor to spend time on his technique and not parade him out like a show pony.

      • Dusk says:

I love that someone has offered this advice, presumably from an expert. Nurturing your voice is the difference between a short-term and a long-term singing career.

      • Patty Michaels says:

Malakai has a very well-known voice teacher as well as Scott Price the director of Scola Cantora looking after him. You have no clue what you’re talking about.

      • Jag says:

This person has no idea what he is talking about. He has obviously pigeonholed Malakai who has a renowned singing tutor! Dear me where do these people who think they know everything come from?

  • Hercule says:

It’s probably not HIS ambitions that are propelling him at this point.

  • Lorraine Martin says:

Oh my god my hairs stand on end when I hear his voice.

  • Jo. says:

I wish him much success, and with training he’ll succeed. We must remember, no matter what color you’re we are all God’s Children and we are put here for a purpose. Learn to open your heart, the crisis that we see on a daily comes from hatred!!!!!. For those who is bashing this young man, you need to get on your knees and ask our savior forgiveness. ♥️

  • Maritza says:

    Idiot booer! Ignorant, maybe jealous.
