Board, already? Royal Academy lands big banker
NewsThe Royal Academy of Music, chaired for the past nine years by former BBC director Jenny Abramsky, has just named her successor.
He is Sir Simon Robey, 62, former chair of the Royal Opera House and presently of Britten Pears Arts. He is an investment banker with a deft hand in classical transitions, a sometime choral scholar at Magdalen College, Oxford.
He is married to Victoria Hull, ex-wife of BBC chairman Richard Sharp.
