If the UK carries on cutting everything to do with music and the arts, soon there wont be any artists left to perform on this platform…
That’s of course the point. Record labels sit on mountains of recordings of the repertoire staples. DG and Sony will be fine even if they never, ever get to record another solo Bach or Beethoven symphony. And streaming services, which use all this back catalogue (and presumably soon the equally massive Hyperion ‘niche’ repertoire) will be fine too – few people search for hyper-niche rarities on streaming.
The ones who will suffer will be current artists and rarer and newer repertoire.
