OperaThe soprano has withdrawn from a controversial upcoming February 7 performance on behalf of the Guido d’Arezzo Foundation in central Italy.
The official reason: ‘an inflammation of the oracl cavity’.
The town of Arezzo had been threeatened with further pro-Ukraine demonstrations.
The concert has been rescheduled for February 17. Her accompanist will be Barenboim’s wife, Elena Bashkirova.

Arezzo has approx 100.000 inhabitants. How many of them go to demonstrations regularly? Enough to scare of Netrebko? I very much doubt so.

She should be banned wherever she wants to perform unless she distances herself from the regime. That she has an Austrian citizenship was an oversight of that government neither does she speak the language nor can any other citizen there have two passports go figure.

Hello, Dixie, that is an old photo. Her Instagram account shows her busy cooking and remodeling her apartment in Vienna. Inflammation of the Oral Cavity is a real medical condition, according to Google. Reporting on Anna Netrebko reminds me of my old profession.
