Who’s next in Lucerne?
NewsThe coming vacancy at the head of the Lucerne Festival is being hotly contested. It is Switzerland’s biggest clasical music festival and by far the best endowed. Michael Haefliger is stepping down in 2025.
Christian Berzins has a list of likely candidates in the Aargauer Zeitung.
He sees the favourites as Numa Bischof of the Lucerne Symphony and Christoph Müller of the Gstaad Menuhin Festival. But he does not rule out a pitch from Anne-Sophie Mutter, who must be getting tired in her 60th year of spending much of her life in airport lounges.
She has many fans in Switzerland (see pic)
