He was seen in Florence in October and played Mozart’s last concerto very well indeed. He was bent over but looked reasonably well for a man his age. Maybe international travel still isn’t on the cards. Hopefully it will be soon.
I had a ticket for this and also for the Pires recital on January 31 (Beethoven Pathétique and opus 110, Mozart 331 and Kinderszenen) which has been postponed to March 4. I can’t go to both of them. Let’s hope that the next pianist of the week (Argerich) will not cancel her concert on February 2 with Pappano and Santa Cecília)…
I’m afraid she will not play in Paris since in the Santa Cecilia Rome concerts (January 19, 20, 21) Vikingur Ólafsson will play instead…
