Three composers died this week
RIPToshi Ichiyanagi, who died on October 7 aged 89, was the first husband of Yoko Ono from 1956 to 1962. He never remarried.
His works include five operas and ten symphonies.
Josep Soler, who died on October 9 aged 87, was a leading Catalan composer with 16 operas, 7 symphonies and 3 piano concertos to his name.
Leon Schidlowsky, who died on October 10 aged 91, was a prolific Chilean composer who migrated to Israel in the 1960s and taught at Tel Aviv Uiversity until 2000, cultivating a generation of Israeli composers.
