Please, arrêtez de l’ appeler Yannick … à moins que vous ne le connaissiez personnellement.

    A-riding on a pony,
Stuck a feather in his cap

I don’t know that it’s still the case, but the 76ers, Philadelphia’s basketball team, used to play a video of YNS and the Philadelphians performing the Star Spangled Banner before each game.

Like it or not, Yannick is America’s conductor.

Who else could fill that role today?

Not any American, not a single one anywhere in the world has his status.

Certainly none of the conductors of the Big Five + LA + SF + Pittsburgh. They’re too foreign. Even Salonen remains foreign after all these decades in the US.

    It’s Yannick by miles.
