The tenor says he will be back in action next week after a long lay-off.

But his speaking voice sounds suspiciously hoarse.

  • Yv says:

Hoarseness and the area underneath his eyes let me doubt that it is the right decision to work again with this extremely filled schedule for August! I definitively hope this might not do any harm to his general health, his vocal chords and his career.

  • Liloloperaluv says:

This is good news indeed! Reinfections carry increased risks. This isn’t over stay safe and mask up. We love you JK.

  • Paul Barte says:

Having a ticket for the München recital, I’m hoping all is well!

  • TishaDoll says:

That poor man was born with a dark cloud over his head. The now pulled video didn’t do much to allay concern.

  • Pedersen says:

Yes, Jonas says he’s back to work. Personally, I’m only interested in his second Peter Grimes, which he is scheduled to sing in Munich in September. And I’d like him to sing Tristan again (not happening next season). But, looking at the video he posted on FB, for the umpteenth time I conclude that he looks like someone who is taking steroids, and in high dose. He says he has asthma – it could be that. Could be something else, too. Autoimmune diseases come in groups.

  • Bloom says:

And how does someone who takes steroids in a high dose look like?

  • Helen says:

I must admit he did sound rather hoarse in the video. He is known to suffer from allergies. I just hope he is ok. I missed him tremendously at the ROH just last week. We shall see on Saturday I suppose.

  • Viola says:

Lord Almighty, he’s probably whispering having just got his little kid off for a nap as a mother of a tiddler of the same age I’d say if I wanted to record a cheeky vid I’d wait till he’d nodded off first

Desperately missed in Cav/Pag – summer looks busy, hope he’s pacing it because we need him over time – protect those pipes, good sir. He’s a one-off.
