The Met picks new principal horn
OrchestrasAfter three days of auditions, the Metropolitan Opera has promoted Brad Gemeinhardt to principal horn.
He was third horn for some years and was recently chair of the players’ committee.

Congrats to Brad! Well done! He was originally appointed 3rd/high horn in 2007 and at this movement he has been acting principal since 2020 when previous principal Joseph Anderer retired. He and Erik Ralske are making now a great principal couple!
