The Russian cellist Sergei Roldugin, alleged to be president Putin’s principal money launderer, has been placed under US sanctions.

Roldugin, 70, is one of Putin’s oldest friends.

He is already under EU sanctions. The US says he is ‘part of a system that manages President Putin’s offshore wealth.’

That fact was exposed in the Panama Papers back in 2016.

Finally. Putin aside, money laundering is a criminal offense. Think of all the money he laundered since 2016. Why the heck did it take so long?

    A cellist/money launderer? Busy guy!

  • Nina says:

According to the stories of a musician I know, he came to the widely advertised “auditions at the St. Petersburg House of Music” (Roldugin is the Artistic Director), the entire audition procedure goes with violations, starting with the filing and selection of applications. There is no question of a talented musician (not someone’s protégé) being able to perform at the St. Petersburg House of Music, from the word “absolutely”. Nevertheless, concerts of “young Russian stars” are regularly held there. The real talents in Russia are the musicians who live, study and work against everything, including fake “support” and superlow scholarships and salaries.
