Just in: Met scraps tour to Japan

We hear that the Met orchestra’s June visit to Japan with Yannick Nézet-Séguin has been called off.

The reason given by the Japanese promoter: ‘In view of the severe situation of the new coronavirus infection in Japan.’

The Met has said nothing so far.
