Headless Vienna hauls in sub from Linz
NewsThe Vienna Symphony Orchestra, whose chief conductor walked out this morning, has been left headless for Easter weekend.
Happily, someone knew a chap in Linz, called Markus Poschner.
They say:
Following the cancellation of Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Markus Poschner, chief director of the @TAG, will take over the project “Spring in Vienna – the Easter concert of the Vienna Symphonics”. We are looking forward to a great program on two evenings at Musikverein Wien
Der passt zum Niveau dieses Orchesters.

Maestro Poschner is a real conductor and one of genuine talent and promise. So far, the recordings in his ongoing Bruckner cycle from Linz have been fantastic; the recent 8th is a stunner displacing the famous Karajan in many listener’s opinion.
What’s a real conductor?
I didn’t know Marie Antoinette was a conductor; she was Austrian, you know!!
