Message from the violinist Daniel Hope:

Hope for Peace” – Emergency Aid Programme for Refugee Musicians

At the Beethoven-Haus Bonn we have today launched an emergency aid programme to support musicians in need who have been displaced as a result of the current crisis in Eastern Europe. Several benefit concerts are planned to raise funds for these measures.

The Beethoven-Haus will make living space in Bonn available to musicians who are refugees. Those affected will be offered rehearsal, concert and recording opportunities in the Beethoven-Haus on a project-by-project basis, so that they can continue to work artistically. Finally, there will be musical encounters between artistic personalities who see themselves as bridge builders between Ukraine, Russia and Europe in general.

The Beethoven-Haus is respectfully requesting support for this emergency aid programme, both through donations and/or volunteer work. For this purpose, the “Hope for Peace” relief fund has been set up by the Beethoven-Haus Foundation. The following bank details can be used for charitable donations:

  • Harpist says:

Bravo. He lives up to his surname and I am sure Beethoven wouldn’t mind.

    • PM says:

      Good idea! But…
Would it be too nice to offer some opportunities to work to a few others gifted musicians, who I said not so cool at the moment and struggled to stay afloat during last two years and became somehow a refugee as well?
      Is it a dreamland?
