And everyone blaming the wonderful music and opera of Britten that kept them away!

  • RW2013 says:

BB getting the attention he deserves.

  • Peter says:

So no longer three vaccines + PCR? Well, still apartheid, but apartheid light, at least.

    • Couperin says:

wait don’t you also mean the holocaust, american indian genocide, japanese internment and bosnian mass killings combined? just get the damn shot, it only hurts for a wittle bit. maybe they’ll even give you a lollipop after.

      • Peter says:

Why should I take medication I don’t need to go the opera?

PS: Look up the meaning of the word “apartheid” (in Afrikaans language) and save your holocaust jiggling for later.

        • John Kelly says:

It’s so annoying. Why should I have to buy auto insurance – I mean – I’m not planning to have an accident. The burden of good citizenship is just too great. I have to stop at red lights. Really annoying. It’s so annoying being asked to think of anyone but myself.

          • Peter says:

This is fantastic. “We have to drive on the correct side of the road, therefore you should get medication to go to the opera.”

I somebody had said something like that before 2020… well.

And I’m in that photo, and the performance was absolutely brilliant! Perfect, no, who cares – the three main protagonists were superb, the chorus did a sterling job under all circumstances and despite a few stray notes the orchestra sounded beautifully balanced. Gold star for the percussion section who have nowhere to hide. Standing ovation at the end. Loved it.

    • OperaFan from California says:

I cannot find understand why they did not live-stream the performance. I asked the State Opera and they have no plan to air it. How much loved it will be by an international streaming audience!

    • Hugh Kerr says:

Well said Jane I was there last night and it was wonderful

  • Alexander says:

I think some canadian truckers will significantly improve StaatsOper attendance if the people of neo-fascist Austria let them go in 😉 Mozart would be happy 😉
PS just my opinion of course 😉
